Iphone update

July 30th, 2009

Oh look I can update this from my phone. Sweet.

Goin

July 1st, 2009

All I can really say right now is that things are going.

I am riding to work most days. With this cold I got in Washington, it makes it a little more interesting.

I’ve begun to solidify what I eat most days, usually have a granola bar for breakfast and drink water a lot more than I used to. I think this is a good change. I will occasionally have a soda or coffee now, but the lack of coffee is only until the quarter starts here at nps, they closed the place I usually get coffee every day. It remains closed until July 6th, so 2 more days of work without coffee.

I don’t feel like I should say what I’m working on, but I’ll give some vague idea. I’m looking through unmanaged, flat, and undocumented code. What am I looking for you ask? I am looking for the algorithm they used to send data over their serial interface. From this I get to reverse engineer it to decode what was send and store it to a file.

Also I am probably getting an Iphone. I am gettin anxious about it though, since I really dont like apple, as a company not their products. But since at the moment its one of the few phones that will allow wifi connection, and they are like the only platform that mobile apps are being developed for, it seems like a good choice.

So that being said. There will probably be more to come from me regarding my beer making that happened recently.

New Job, New Problems

April 6th, 2009

I recently started working at NPS. I work in the UAV lab. Anyways, the problems all arose because I stopped using checks after the first year of college. Which means I hadn’t gotten any new checks for around 5 years.

It seems that my bank has hired new people recently, and in large numbers. This has only compounded the problem. All of the employees I inquired about my old checks didn’t know that the routing number had been changed before they started working there and after I had gotten these checks. FAIL.

I went in to their brick and mortar location, before I submitted my check to be processed for direct deposit. I specifically asked whether this check would work since it was around 5 years since I recieved it as well as asking if the routing information had changed since then. They said no, So I turn in the check the next day to enroll myself in direct deposit.

My first payday rolls around, we are supposed to get paid on friday. No money, no deposit, no pending transactiosn are present. What is going on I ask myself. But I start asking HRO too late in the day and they have already left. So I continue checking my account all weekend. Nothing. Monday, NOTHING. So I call HRO, they say there was a deposit made. I think to myself, there must be SOMETHING wrong. There is. I just don’t know it yet. I call my bank, ask them what my routing number is for my account. After the first number, BINGO, there is the problem.

The bank had changed routing numbers, not told me, and then told me my old check was fine.

So when dealing with banks it is always good to talk with people you have talked with before. Unfortunatly for me, the only person I do know there basically runs the bank now and doesn’t usually handle this type of thing. I am sure that if I had asked them when I was checking to see if the check was still going to work, this whole situation could have been avoided.

sidenote: WHY WOULD YOU CHANGE A ROUTING NUMBER?!?!?!

Job Search

June 4th, 2008

I’ve been out of college for around 3 months now. Applied to around 75 Jobs. No real responses recently.

Its getting pretty mundane. STUPID ECONOMY.

Guess i gotta keep TRY TRY TRYING.

Insane

October 21st, 2007

I must be insane. 19 units. Research. And trying to have a life.

The work keeps piling up even faster than I complete it. Its already almost halfway through fall quarter and I’m feeling more confident in some classes, yet there is one class where I don’t feel to have done anything yet.

All I know is there will be a lot of writing which I must endure this quarter. Its part of what needs to be completed. It must be done.

My sister got married last weekend. Never before had someone just given me small glasses of Newcastle for free in a bar, Multiple times. The Ceremony was nice but I should have eaten before I went. I had a really nice time but it was cutting into my time to work on homework. Again I’m getting work piled on top of me, almost to the point where I don’t know what to do first.

This weekend I get the privilege of working on the following

2 Labs for Digital Systems

2 Writeups and one Prelab for Circuit Fabrication

A paper to help others write resumes

A Control Systems Project

And Figuring out what I want to write about for my Ethics paper.

LOTS of fun. Not a lot of time.

so at least I have a high fun density.

ARG.

theres a lot of stuff thats just been very annoying in life lately.

Too bad theres no easy fix to any one thing. Hopefully removing myself from situations where I might become more stressed will help.

Sometimes I notice people deliberately being rude and hypocritical

Wheres the reset button?

This would be the first contact of sorts. Getting this website working has taken a little longer than I had hoped. Probably by the end of the week I should have the rest of the photo gallery and main-site working correctly.
